Dear folk,
Every few days, it seems, when I wake up my Fairphone 3, I either get a black screen for ages, or the phone is totally unresponsive, and then I get a message ‘Quickstep not responding’, and then it takes about 5 - 10 minutes before the phone becomes usable.
This is increasingly annoying.
It has been happening for over a year now, or maybe even longer.
I have the latest system updates etc, and I just have the standard install, no special add-ons or anything.
Any clues as to why this is happening?
Kind regards,
Richard
How full is your internal storage? (Check here: Settings –> Storage)
Thanks for the quick response.
It says 70% - 45 out of 64Gb.
Best,
Richard
ok, that should be no reason for concern then
Hi! I was getting this and stopped using Quickstep, instead using Nova Launcher and it’s LOADS better. See my recent post about this.
Can you give a link, I can’t find your post on replacing Quickstep with Nova Launcher?
How many apps do you have in the “recently used apps” list (square in “3-button navigation” bar at bottom)? If there are more than three or four, it’s probably a good idea to dismiss (swipe upwards) the ones you don’t immediately need.
Thank you, that’s very useful.
Fingers crossed it helps you! Try taking permissions off Android System Intelligence in case it was that, and if not, perhaps try Nova!
If you prefer free open source software (FOSS) you can also take a look at :
Great, thanks - I’ll give these a try.
