I think only Fairphone’s repair contractor Cordon in France could make a proper diagnosis (if it is really only the power button). As you are writing, the phone starts in a loop, so it is somewhat questionable to say that “everything worked except for the on/off button” when you cannot really properly run the phone to check its functions.
