I’m on a FP5 (stock OS, A15, VT2F.C.065) as well, just tested: Connected to my home WiFi, creating a WiFi hotspot does not turn off my WiFi/ does not remove the WiFi symbol.
Can confirm this. It’s the same with my FP3: when Hotspot is chosen, the phone switches to LTE. When Hotspot is turned off, it switches (after a short delay) back to WLAN.
I just experiences the same issue. Hotspot has worked fine until today when it turns off as soon as I turn it on. I cannot find a setting where I can change from 5 to 2,4. I will have to try to turn the WiFi off before I turn on the Hotspot.
I tried today and it works fine for me on android FP6.QREL.15.176.0 I have WiFi 5 at home, and tried the hotspot with 2,4 5 and 6ghz and all of them kept my WiFi on and hotspot on too. I had the setting to disable if no device is connected and still it remained active for some time.
@o2cui2i to change the frequency, you can go to the hotspot settings (I usually go by holding in the control panel) and last setting is speed and compatibility (or something like that, I have the phone in Spanish).
