I have a new display, and have to remove 13 screws, but three of them i can’t remove. I have grip, I can turn them around, they go a little ‘higher’ and then they ‘fall’ deeper. How do I remove these screws? I already turn the device upside down, knocking softly on the phone, put a little pressure by trying to remove the display. But that didn’t work yet.
It’s quite frustrating buying an ‘repairable’ phone where the easiest thing “taking a screw out” is a hell of a job.
When I had that issue (the FP3 screws were always prone to that), I resorted either to tweezers/pincette or the screwdriver stub that was included in the FP3 original box – it’s somewhat magnetic. I think a few times a simple needle also helped to lift/peel the loose screws out of their threads.
Many thanks urs_lesse, i’m a vet so enough neeldes and pincettes to fix it haha. I also used my nails fixating the screw and then turn the phone around the screw instead of turning the screw in the phone. That worked well. Unfortenately the secondhand screen didn’t function at all, so now i decided to buy a new/secondhand phone, because I don’t dare to pay money and freak out for parts which I can’t put in the phone because of these very delicate screws which i took in and out for 2 times already today (because i needed my phone during the process of trying to get the screws out…5-10 minutes it takes they say….#not)…..sad story!
