Hi everyone, I am hoping someone might be able to help me. I recently sent my Fairphone to the repair centre to have it fixed. It was mended but stupidly I dropped it in the river recently and it is now not turning on. I can’t afford to pay for it to be fixed again, it was very expensive the first time. Fairphone said that the community might be able to give me some advice about local repair shops in the UK. I am based in Hertfordshire. If anybody is able to help I would be really grateful. Thank you, Steph
Welcome to the Fairphone community.
How long did the Fairphone stay in the river? Did you remove the battery instantly, after you fished it out?
What did you afterwards? Just to check whether there is hope at all.
Please make sure to consult our waterwiki.
There’s a Fairphone Angel (community volunteer trying to help users) you could contact in Edinburgh who might be able to give local hints regarding the UK or might be able to help in some other fashion … see angelsmap.
Hi, I pulled it out immediately. It was working for a little while but then died. I did remove the battery straight away but as I was at my mums I didn’t get to take the whole phone apart until I got home. I was hoping it might dry it out more fully but no joy.
Thank you. I will check them out
