Has lacking camera performance mentioned in reviews improved for FP4?

I am strongly considering to buy the FP4 to support the company and bring down electronic waste, but I also want a phone with really good camera performance. I have read many reviews from the launch of FP4, where they turned down the camera performance, but mentioned that the software for the camera might be improved in a later update.

1. Has this update been released?
2. What is your opinion as owner of a FP4 when it comes to camera performance?
