Has anyone successfully reflashed Fairphone 6?

I just got my FP6 back from Murena’s reflashing service after having bricked it the first time around. I’m wondering if anyone else has successfully swapped OSes with the FP6, and if so what steps they took to get there. I’m a bit more reticent this time hoping to not brick it again.

My phone arrived with /e/os, and bootloader version FP6.QREL.15.138.0.

I ran fastboot flashing unlock and fastboot flashing unlock_critical.

I installed FPOS with bootloader version FP6.QREL.15.162.0.

The first time I installed, I forgot to hold Volume down after installing, so I never got get_unlock_ability=1. However, after a second installation I did. Is that all that’s required to safely lock the system?

My phone is currently unlocked and in use, but I’d like to re-lock it for security reasons if possible (I realize this will require a backup/restore).

Thanks in advance everyone

“bootloader version” is not involved but “Android Security Update” that was registred
at time of the unlock.

what version was it ?

e-3.2-a15, This /e/OS 3.2 version includes the Android security patches available as of October, 1st 2025.

e-3.3-a15, This /e/OS 3.3 version includes all Android security patches available as of December, 1st.

e-3.4-a15 This /e/OS 3.4 version includes all Android security patches available as of January, 1st.

Well unfortunately, I didn’t get that number. But my current ASU says “November 5, 2025”, so I guess I’ll wait 6 months before trying to reflash + relock, which I was planning to do anyway.

It’s a little confusing since I’m going from /e/OS to FPOS and not the other way around, but thank you! I’ve bookmarked that post for later.

How to manually install FairtphoneOS on your Fairphone

you should relock with next FairphoneOS release, that should include January 5, 2026 ASU, when current e-3.4 include January 1, 2026
