Green camera symbol

Does it stay as shown in the Screenshot, means you see the big green camera symbol or does it turn into the little green dot? Because this itself is weird. Does it happen in safemode as well? That could give a hint if its a tjird party App or rather the system or preinstalled App.

Dont have the problem, I open the camera, WA an duse Camera and I shortly see the big gren cam symbol, then it turns after 1-2 seconds into a little green dot till I close the app or its in the background.

For me, it started with the recent update to FP4.TP2I.C.0121.20240626. It happens with the camera app, not with WhatsApp.

I still experienced the issue today. I think that it got triggered by the camera app aswell. Restarting the phone did solve the problem.

No apps have the permisson to access the camera all the time. All apps have been closed.

got the same thing, but even when I blocked the camera for ALL apps!
restart removes it, but it reappears.

mailed it to Support bot did not get a solution up to now

Hello everyone, I’m new here!

For a few weeks, my Phone shows this green little camera in the upper right corner, after I used the camera. Even if I close all my apps, it’s still there. Only if I restart the Phone, it dissappears. It’s not always happening, but today it did this 2 times and I’m worrieb about a virus or something!

As already suggested in post #16, if you can state your Build number and list apps, that might help build a profile. Also, try to identify the event which triggers the symbol. Launching an app, which one?

I thought this might be related to removing battery usage restrictions (i.e. letting an app run in the background) but I’ve not been successful in reproducing this bug with Camera app.

Got the same problem. I think it’s Snapchat. After restarting the phone, the green symbol appears again when using Snapchat. Sometimes when I close Snapchat it goes away. But at some point the green camera sign stays there no matter what. So restarting the phone only temporarily solves the problem. It is especially annoying that I can’t see the battery level anymore. Happened quite a few times that my battery was nearly empty and I did not know.

That sounds like a system UI glitch as the cam symbol should turn into a liitle green dot after a second or so (as long as the camera is used by an app)

I have the same green icon too. It doesn’t change into a dot or anything, it remains the green symbol. My build is FP4.TP2I.C.0121.20240626. Will see if restarting or app permissions show up with any changes

Same here. Green camera icon sometimes stays visible/stuck and doesn’t change into a green dot. Stays there even when all apps are closed. None of my apps are allowed to use the camera while not using the app.

I encounter the same problem, and noticed a few things indicating a visual glitch.

• the green camera icon is on all the time, and only disappears when I reset the phone. It comes back and stays on when I open the camera app.
• when I slide down the notification panel, there’s no green dot in the corner, as shown in the below gif
• when I open the camera app with the visual glitch already there, the green camera icon seems to expand and collapse as expected but overlayed onto the glitched camera icon, as in the below gif
• when any app goes full screen, the icon disappears with the notification bar, and no green dot remains.
• when the camera app goes full screen, the small green dot is present in the corner of the screen after the notification bar disappears (NOT as shown in the gif - the green dot doesn’t show on the screen recording, but I promise it was there)

I remain available if there’s any experiment I can do to help identify the source of that problem.

I have a similar issue, not a Camera icon but a green dot. It disappears when I swipe down to show the menue but reappears when the menu is closed. Only restarting gets rid of it for some time.

Anything new regarding the problem?

Same problem as other people when I start the camera app sometimes it gets stuck in the notification bar in a different shape apart from the green dot. I have seen full camera symbol or a green bar just today.
I tried just now to reproduce but it didn´t trigger it.

I am kind of tired by now of all the glitches we have in the FP4. I really keep my fingers corossed for A14 otherwise I’ll have to move on. I don’t have the energy anymore to be a beta tester.

I’ve got same issue here. All apps are wither denied access to the camera or it’s “only while in use” Noticed the problem with Discord, Snapchat, Telegram, Whatsapp and the Camera app.
