FP6 with /e/OS video not working

Hello,

I have an FP6 with /e/OS and since the last update my video stopped working correctly. Specifically:

  • The /e/OS app gives me a “Failed to save video” message if I try to make a video with the Lens 1 camera. If I change to the Lens 2 or the front camera the app just crashes.
  • The FP app does record a video with the main camera, but both the image and especially the sound are extremely distorted and not in sync. If I try to use the wide angle camera or the front camera the screen just gets blurry and the app stops working until I move back to the photo mode.

Photos and other modes seem to work fine. The issue seems to be just with the video mode.

Is anyone having a similar issue? Any idea on how to solve it? I contacted FP’s customer service about it weeks ago but haven’t received any reply.

I’m new to this forum so I apologise if I’m asking something that was asked already. I tried to look for a similar issue but could not find it.

Did you try to delete data and cache of the camera app?
Using /e/OS there should afaik be two cameras installed: OpenCamera (foundation.e.camera) and the Fairphone-Camera. (com.fp.camera).
Did you try with the other camera to compare the behavior)?
Did you also search or ask for the problem on https://community.e.foundation too? There are even more people using /e/OS.

Deleting the data and cache solved the issue! Thank you so much and sorry for the post. I could have though about this myself…
