FP6 Screen stuck to yellow after salted water exposition

Hi,

my Fairphone 6 got immerged for several minutes into sea water some weeks ago? After that the phone began to not work properly, got screen issues then totally stopped to boot.

As I was on holidays I had limited means to deal with it. The day dafter immersion I disassembled the whole phone then washed it with clean water and isopropolic alcohool then waited some days to dry. After some days the phone booted again then immediately stopped on android boot. I have ordered a new battery and replaced it. The smartphone then looked repaired for two days except for the digital reader.

Then the screen began to only display full yellow colour. I’m wondering if its worth it to replace only the screen part. Is there a way to be sure the problem is only on the screen part itself and not on the motherbaord ?

You’ve done everything right so far, but saltwater is particularly corrosive and can cause corrosion within just a few hours. That’s why it’s a good idea to take the device to a repair professional or a specialized data recovery service as soon as possible. There, they can clean the circuit board and repair any damaged solder joints; if you’re really unlucky, you’ll need a new cell phone.
