Hello Fairphone users,
Recently I have purchased a FP6 and I am very happy with this beautiful product, but…
I successfully installed my ING bank app “Bankieren”.
ING app works fine!
And also installed Google Wallet.
But Google Wallet hangs, see attached screenshot below.
And the Bank app keeps saying “1 moment” after selecting “Google Pay”.
NFC is enabled.
Has anyone manage to install this?
Any tips or tricks are welcome.

ING Bankieren works absolutely fine on my FP6 with native e/OS, but I do not use Google Wallet anymore, so sadly cannot advise on that.

Generally speaking Google Wallet only works on phones with Google software and services. If you de-google then you can’t expect to use the most secure processes, which are card payments. When I ran GrapheneOS I just used to used a Garmin watch for NFC payments.
Since it is basically storing a virtual debit card on your phone, would you really trust it to some third party developer who might not fully implement all the correct encryption?
Thanks Gilesjuk, this might be the reason. But it would be nice if there is a solution for contactless paying with this phone.
Or maybe by using Garmin.

I mean, if that’s all you want and you don’t mind all the Google-stuff, simply install FairphoneOS. 
But maybe wait until this issue is resolved, it might brick your phone if you choose to install it.

I will try Curve for my creditcard.
The reason why I bought this FP6 /e/OS is security and privacy. Also because of “Vendor lock-in” problem. I am phasing out big-tech technolgies, but this will take some time.
Hope it works out for you. Let others know here about your experience with it.

I’ve been using curve for about three months now (even though I have the Google version of the FP6 and had a phone with Google services before) and it works great! I certainly recommend it to anyone who wants to get away from Google.
I’m now using Curve with my ING Mastercard for contactless payments in the Netherlands, and I’m very satisfied.
Installing and configuring the app was easy.
It took a bit of getting used to at first, but now I’m very happy with it. The app clearly shows transactions.
A great replacement for Google Wallet.

Curve is not available in Switzerland.
We need another solution.
What about a collaboration with Klarna?
Curve is also not available in the USA. I understand it is an undertaking that requires resources to connect the code to the banks to the authentication hardware for security. It is a large project but definitely needed. If I had more experience I would start the project myself but it is outside my expertise.
