Yes I am with Three.
Glad they are taking your complaint seriously.
I might be speaking too soon but curiously, today is the first day since the update that I haven’t had any dropouts. Not sure if something may have changed in the background.
Only once today for me, normally 3 - 5 times a day so maybe some progress
Another sufferer here, also on three. Here’s hoping they sort it in the next update.
I spoke too soon, back to getting a few dropouts every day. Looks like it was either a one off or I didn’t notice for a day.
If you haven’t already, raise a support ticket on their customer service page, the more of us who are vocal about it, the more heat it will get and hopefully it will be prioritised.
They were in denial about it and sent me generic troubleshooting advice when I reported it.
Ok I have heard back from Smarty, they are claiming that the device is simply not compatible with their network without providing any concrete answer as to why. They have advised me to contact Fairphone support, which I will do once they come back to me with the specific incompatibility issue they are facing.
Fingers crossed this will get resolved soon.
Issue still persists on latest software 16 (FP6.QREL.16.95.0).
Here’s the solution with my FP5 : Enable “Developer options,” search for “Prefer 5G NR Mode,” and then switch from NSA+SA Mode to NSA Mode. Maybe it will also work with your FP6
Thank for the suggestion, I’ve been trying this for a couple of days now and I’m still unfortunately getting dropouts.
I’m moving to a different Sim tomorrow which should hopefully solve the issue for me.
Yes, I have the exact same issue with my 3 SIM. This issue has been going on for 3 months and is driving me crazy. Every 4 to 5 hours a loose cellular data. I have tried everything. All I can do is go into settings and turn off the SIM and then on again. The “!” then goes away and I have a signal again for another few hours.
I have just moved over to a eSIM today to see if this resolves the issue. I have a list of bugs that have not been resolved. I do like Fairphone’s ethics, but I really am regretting buying this phone now. I need a phone to be reliable and this phone is not fit for purpose as of mid September 2026.
Any luck with the eSIM? I got to the point with support where they want me to send my phone in, and seem convinced it’s a hardware issue, despite it clearly being down to the software update in June.
Hi
I been running the eSim on the same “Three” network for two days now and it is better, I’m still losing cellular data just once a day instead of four times a day. I’m also convinced it’s a software issue since the June update.
I can’t believe that fairphone aren’t aware of the issue. This really is unacceptable. A different handset will not solve this issue.
