Since the update at the start of last week (June 22nd) every 5 to 6 hours my phone disconnects from the mobile provider (Three UK). This means that I cannot send or receive calls. Resetting this is easy as I just turn airplane mode on for a second and then back off. Okay for daytime not so good at night. Phone works fine between the resets until it happens again. Only has happened since update.
We have had some report of issues with your provider, unfortunately.
Could you tell us your network settings, in particular 3G/4G/5G and/or 4G calling?
Similar disconnection problems on WiFi when using certain apps & texts, no mobile signal where i live so rely on WiFi & WiFi calling. Mobile on Vodafone, WiFi via EE.
Should add that a Lenovo tablet in same place continues without a problem, again airplane mode for a few secs fixes FP6.
The worst offending app is the Tesla app, usually a couple minutes of use then disconnect occurs. Doesn’t affect browsing at all this continues regardless of texts waiting & apps not connecting.
Interestingly I am having this issue with Orange since the last update. I went and talked to them, they changed my SIM, and it is still going on every few hours.
@PWYLL and everyone who has been running into this problem. After countless calls with the data provider, I managed to get in touch with an amazing engineer who solved it for me. My speed went from patchy 70 mb at best to consistent 500 mb, and I’ve had no issues for the past 3 days with disconnections.
Apparently there is a weird interaction between network updates, OS updates, and network settings. What we had to do was:
In Settings - System → Reset Settings → Reset mobile network settings
Restart the phone
Get in touch with your provide and ask them specifically to help you set up in Network → SIM → Access Point Names a new APN for internet (they need to do some things on their end) because your internet and network disconnect.
Airplane mode for 30-60 secs → give your phone 2-3 minutes
FIXED
Hopefully this helps, and you get the help from the provider. I think that was the hardest tbh, but it is a problem with their APN, Phone settings and tower connections for sure. (I did go and ask for a fresh SIM last week and still faced the issue, but that might work if you have a very old SIM, idk).
@Meaghan , tagging you because I hope this helps others too.
