Hi Guys,
i have a bevaviour with my Fairphone 6.
I´m using a SAP Scansoftware (Scan4Cloud) from the Google Playstore for our SAP warehouse bookings.
Since i switched to my Fairphone 6 (had a old Google Pixel 3a before), the Scan4cloud application does have a problem to select the correct camera. I´ve had only 1 camerea before.
Now the application selects the ultra wide angle camera and this leads to unscannable barcodes, because of change in aspect ratio. I have found no setting in Android to manually select a “default camera for Android applications”
Can you help me?
Best regards
Thomas
Welcome to the forum
Lens selection is usually done in the app.
I presume that you’ve thoroughly explored the options and settings available in the app, with which of course I’m not familiar.
It’s possible that the wide-angle lens is getting selected because it also serves for super-macro mode. I also note that the image is out of focus.
Try holding the device a bit further away from the barcode.
Otherwise I think your best option would be to consult the app publisher.
I actually sometimes have the same problem. When I need to scan a QR code with my banking app. No settings in the app to select the camera module. After a few attempts the correct module is active and I can scan the code.
