FP5 battery status manufacturing date 1970

I have an FP5 running /e/OS 3.3 (Android 15).

I recently checked my battery status (System / Device diagnostics / Component health / Battery status) and was presented with the following screen.

The charging and battery life in my phone has been a pain since ever. I’m wondering if this has anything to do with it.

Anyone has a similar experience? Does this mean that there’s something wrong with the battery? Or is this a software issue?

I’m carrying the original battery, about 2 years old now.

it is the native unix date

Yep, that’s the UNIX Epoch. World class programming, Fairphone.

hi

same anomalies : unix date, and ‘0% of original capacity’ while the battery seems ok. then, anything wrong with the battery capacity though?

thanx

Well.. I have to charge my phone 3 times to make it through the day. Quite often when charging the phone shuts down. Sometimes I leave it on charge overnight but the battery never reaches 100%. Overall, the charging experience has been challenging, to say the least.

sorry bilux, i was not answering to you but asking the community since i have exactly the same anomaly (same phone and os version) about the battery status, though not the charging troubles you have.

by the way, to keep a battery ‘sane’ an advice says to charge it when it reaches 20% (no less) until 80% (maximum). letting it charging overnight or such a long time is not recommanded.

have you tried a different charger ?

Thanks @akplla

I’ve tried with various chargers. I have the less issues when I’m using Fairphone’s charger and cable. However this is not always possible and I need to use other charging devices. But even with the “original” charger I have issues, such as phone not charging over a percentage (e.g. 88%, and, no, I have not set an upper limit to charging) or charging very slowly.
Regarding the 20-80% rule that you’re suggesting I’m afraid it doesn’t work for me. I need to charge three times a day to keep my phone running!

Thanks for your advice anyway!
