Hello, I updated my Fairphone 4 one hour ago, and since then my home screen is completely black. I tried to reboot, switch off and on the phone, but nothing worked… I cannot access my applications, I can only scroll down the upper menu. Does anyone have the same issue or have suggestions on how to solve this problem?
Thank you,
Hi,
Since the upgrade from A13 to Android 15, I have had temporarily this black screen too, but after using the main switch of the phone to stop/start the screen and loging in it works.
But there is a problem since many times I have to enter the sim code even though I dix not restart the phone.
That presumably means your phone rebooted by itself. There’s a topic on the subject here.

Can you access them by swiping up?
That gesture should normally show you the icons of all the apps (not just your favorites).
Had you changed to a different launcher? (A launcher provides the “home” screen which you can populate with icons to easily launch your favorite apps).
You may be able to access apps temporarily as follows:
- pull down the Quick settings and notification pane (that you referred to as “upper menu”) twice so that it opens fully and extends to the whole screen.
- tap the cogged wheel
bottom right to open Settings - choose Apps > See all apps
- tap the app you wish to launch
- at top right corner of the screen tap the “launch app” button
In addition to what OldRoutard said and the link he gave, here is also a link to the other current “A15 update” bug: Update android 15: Quickstep stopt steeds.
