FP4 runs hot in the front, near the USB-C Port, restarts - Not Plugged in

For some months I have the following problem:

Whenever I use an app (Youtube, Reddit, games, mail, etc.) the phone runs hot on the front side (kind of next to the usb-c port). The phone then freezes and restarts. It doesn’t matter if it is plugged in or not, it happens either way. Cooling the area (I took an ice cube in a cloth) delays the restart.

I checked the backside, it doesn’t run hot in these situation.

The USB-C Port ist 1 year old, same as the battery and the display.

I rechecked the hardware so everything is plugged in the right way or if I find any dirt or burn marks, but it was all in order.

I also tried my old battery if the problem lays there, but it was the same problem again.

Has anyone experienced the same issue?

Welcome to the community forum

More to the left-hand side or to the right?

How long does it take (from when you start a video or game) for the bottom of the screen to feel hot?

This certainly shouldn’t happen just with mail or web browsing, though I guess it would be less surprising after an hour or two of video.

I would avoid that unless you can be sure no humidity is getting in contact with the phone (plastic bag?)

Anyway, this is not normal. I think you should contact support.

Its in the middle, where the circle-buttom is.

Sometimes it Takes 3 minuten (sitting in the toilet browsing Reddit) sometimes 30 minutes Up to an hours when I watch a long video.

Thank you for the Info with a plastic bag. I did the cloth 2 times to see if it was a heat related problem and restart. (And ist looks like ist.)

I will check out the support, thank you.
