My Fairphone is defective. It won’t turn on, even with the charger. It doesn’t respond at all. I submitted a support request on July 8, but I haven’t received any response yet. When trying to reach someone through the live chat, I found that only an AI responds there. I don’t know what to do anymore. Can someone help me?

Or what do you think is changed before the problem?

My phone is about 3 years old. Fortunately I got a 5 year warranty so I „just“ need to get in contact with the support.
Before the phone „died“ it was stuck while booting (I always turn off my phone before going to bed and restart in the Morning). To get out I removed the battery and re-inserted it. After two or three times trying to reboot the phone it stayed off.
I did not change anything.
Perhaps your battery is to low on energy.
If you are lucky then a Fairphone Angel is living in your neighbourhood and has a Fairphone 4.
You should be able to get it to boot:
- if possible use a power socket with switch for precise control
- connect the phone to charger for 2 seconds
- you need to disconnect before anything shows on the sreen.
You may have a problem with the power button.
If nothing happens and you can’t even charge the phone then there remain two possibilities that I can see
Either the battery is dead (if you have a spare or if possible follow Lidwien’s advice to find out)
Or it’s something worse. Again, a FP angel might be able to help. To contact support try the chat between 10 - 12 weekdays.
Could the problem be the USB module? Do you remember if the last charge did the job?
I don’t know how, but if the battery is low and the problem stay in the USB port, you could try to charge the battery in another way.
