A week after replacing the display, I noticed that the front camera no longer works, even with different apps. The problem seems to be hardware. What could I have damaged? The rest of the phone and the touchscreen work perfectly, including the main camera.

Perhaps not damaged but it could be that a connector is loose. So I would like to suggest that you dismantle the phone and check especially the front camera connector.

Problem solved. The front-facing camera eyelet on the new display was covered by a tiny piece of protective paper. I find it incredible that this small detail isn’t highlighted in any DIY video published by Fairphone. Anyway, it ended well. Thanks everyone
