Since recently (I think since Android messages became Google messages) I don’t receive SMS anymore. I tried a different messages app, turning RCS messages on and off and different networks.
My mobile data works and calls work too.
Are you using a physical SIM, an eSIM or both ?
FOS or custom ROM ?
I have the same issue on a FP5. I found out (life in germany) that my mobil provider (Klarmobil) locks SMS for the first 6 weeks after you got a new eSIM (to much bots writing SMS apparently).
Maybe you have the same issue with your mobil provider?
My partner has the same (or a similar) problem since about end of January (probably since the security updates): She can receive normal SMS as always, but since she’s working with a company regulary announcing temporary work, she sometimes receives 20 SMS per day from an alphanumeric sender (not a number) always with the identical contents (just announcing that there’s something new). Very often, a lot of these SMS don’t get delivered, so sometimes she just receives 5 of 20, therefore missing a lot of opportunities.
We’ve talked with the operator who says that often the mobile doesn’t accept the message, tried through 2 new SIM cards and another messaging app to no avail…
Check the blocked and spam in Messages app. It is in its settings.
Thanks, we’ve done this and there’s nothing in there. Also disabled all spam detection, we’re still only getting some of the SMS.
Did she tried asking the IT department or person of the company? To at least see what goes wrong on their side. Also it is always a number, Google messages just connects company (or emergency service) lines with their names.
