FP4 beeping, shutting down, going into android recovery mode, rinse, repeat

A few days ago i changed from Tmobile to Mint mobile. After installing the Esim my ff4 started getting into daily bootloops. It beeps a few times, shuts down, goes into android recovery mode, and starts over. It doesnt happen all day. So far it chooses certain times of day and eventually stops, but the next day it happens again. I have tried switching off of 5G. I have tried restarting in airplane mode. I finally gave in and factory reset it after backing everything up and that didnt fix it either. Im at a loss.

Somehow as long as i dont unlock my phone its fine. I can unlock it and quickly open for example spotify but the beeping starts within 2-3 seconds like a countdown to shutting down, so i press play on my music and turn the screen off and as long as i can control it from the lock screen it wont shut down, but as soon as i unlock the phone it starts counting down and within a few seconds it will shutdown.

Mint means US, correct? What does Mint say to this?

Edit: I assume thats still true

Correct, im in the US. Currently working on contacting Mint to see if they can help too. Thats interesting that the FP5 doesnt support an eSIM because my FP4 seemed to install it fine. Guess ill have to give that a try.

maybe search the US topic for FP4 examples/comments, however, it might be a physical SIM is still the way to go also for the FP4

physical SIM did not correct the problem. still on the search.

My FP4 is doing exactly the same. The beeping started about a month ago - alarmingly while at the airport, and my only option was to keep shutting the phone off to make it stop so as not to worry anyone else. It’s been doing this off and on since then. I now know that I can switch the phone to vibrate mode and the beeping will stop. But, shortly after that, the phone restarts itself and guess into Recovery mode. Today that cycle happened about 5 times, before it settled and functioned as expected the rest of the day.
Very baffling and frustrating.

Edited to add: I’ve always used a physical SIM and stayed with the same network which also provided phone. And, I’m in the UK.

I think i found the issue. I tried lots of things but the problem kept coming back eventually until i stopped keeping credit cards in my wallet. I have a phone case with pockets for cards and a license and things and i started using a mobile wallet recently. When i stopped keeping credit cards in it, the beeping and restarting loop stopped. I didn’t notice until i put a card back in the wallet and it didn’t take long for it to start again. Took me a while to realize it but when i did i experimented and sure enough having a credit card in my wallet/phone case somehow causes it to make odd noises and reboot. If anyone tests this I’d love to hear your findings.
