FP3 battery suddenly died, is it possible to boot without battery?

my FP3 suddenly turned off, i thought the sudden death has come upon me, but when i plugged the charger in, the LED started blinking red, which shouldn’t happen if the motherboard is dead.

i had previously bought another FP3 : FP3 flashing another FP3 with FRP! (posted from my old account that i don’t remember the login for)

but since my sister lost her phone, i had given the second FP3 to her.

i borrowed her battery for a few minutes, and my phone successfully turned on!

since its possible for it to stay powered on if the battery is taken out while connected to a charger, is it possible to power it on without a battery?

Not in my experience.

It is still possible to order batteries from the online shop, which I appreciate very much!

Welcome back to the forum btw.

Actually, from my own testing a while back (I tested this on all six FP generations), both of these should not work on the FP3 (neither running nor booting the FP3 without battery) If it works on yours, I would wonder … maybe it was my old and weak iPod charger that would refuse to power it enough?

From my experience, the FP4 is the only Fairphone that runs without battery when still connected to a charger, but even the FP4 will not boot without a battery inside.

not with the stock ROM, but i’m using iodéOS, which does not shut down when the battery is unplugged
