Finer-grained control of notification sounds?

Is it possible to control the notifications on a per-application basis?

Specifically, I’d like to set things up so that I get a silent notification (i.e. just an icon in the notification bar at the top of the screen) when I have new email, but get a sound from WhatsApp when I have a new message.

I was able to configure things this way on my previous Android phone (HTC One), is there any way to do something like this on the FP2?

I believe I remember PerApp can do that, but it’s been a while since I used it.

Can’t you specify this in the WhatsApp? In Settings, Notifications. After changing the settings, you have to turn of the phone and restart the phone.
