Ah, da war ja was. Danke für den reminder. Da bin ich ja mal gespannt ob das diesmal besser klappt.
Today (14.09.2023) there is another nation wiede emergency altert testing day in Germany.
I am not quite sure, but I believe, for this you have to enable the “Testwarnung”.
For this, goto settings and search for “Notfallbenachrichtigung”. Then select “Notfallbenachrichtigungen für Mobilgeräte” and then select “Testwarning”.
I did this and I will let you know if I have reveived anything after 11h. Last time, there seems to have been an issue with those alerts…
That is not necessary (see quoted post). Warnings on Federal Warning Day are real warnings, not test warnings by the provider. Thus, everyone should receive them.
Who is going to check FP5? Wasn’t “the one” on its way to Hamburg or Munich currently? The pre-ordered ones will not have been shipped by today 11 AM, I’m sure…
Good point. Do you know whether it has arrived there yet or who has got it currently @urs_lesse?
apparently the call this “alert day” at least in their ministry of interior english pages
e.g. the last one in december 2022
Okay,
I can confirm, that the FP4 displayed an alarm and made a horrible noise at 10:59. So, cell broadcast works.
“Nein, diese Option ist für Provider-interne Tests.”
Sorry, did not read this before, but good to kow.
If you want to officially report your experiences (what worked and what didn’t) for improvement purposes you can do so via https://www.warntag-umfrage.de/.
I got two warnings via cell broadcast (congstar) spaced one minute apart, one in German, one in English.
Not sure why they are in different languages, both SIMs are from the same provider ![]()
But the important part is that everything went fine ![]()
With only one SIM card I got the same message in German and in English. I think that’s per design and makes sense given the fact that not all people having a mobile in Germany do speak German.
Edit: That was for my FP2 on FPOS.
Interestingly I got it in German twice.
It’s waiting for pickup in a Post branch.
My FP3+ on /e/OS Android 12 was in flight mode and apparently cell broadcast didn’t break the flight mode. The FP3+ remained all silent.
Well, that’s unfortunate. We’re not gonna know how it did then for now I guess.
