Fairphone repair service query

I have managed to break the socket for the cable in my FP 5 when replacing the screen. Very embarrassing and frustrating. Does anyone know if FP offer a repair service for this sort of thing? I raised a support request nearly 3 weeks ago but no reply yet. I gather slow responses are not unusual!

Yes, they do … https://support.fairphone.com/hc/en-us/articles/17750098804370-Fairphone-5-Repair-Price-list-and-FAQ-Cordon-Repair-Center … just as reference, warranty cases don’t get charged, of course.

(Edit: Misunderstanding on my part.)
In case of urgency and assuming nothing else is broken, the USB port is a module available for self repair … Fairphone 5 USB-C Port - Spare Part | Fairphone … even more relevant if you don’t want to claim warranty.

Phone repair shops are also an option, if they don’t decline because they don’t know Fairphones (and thus don’t know that a phone repair job won’t get much easier than this).

Yes, sadly not unusual … you could try Live Chat.

They are trying to improve, apparently … Fairphone Customer Support Update - August 2025

Hi John,

Thanks for raising this! To clarify: if the damage to the device was caused accidentally by the user, the repair would be outside of warranty. In this case, the best option is usually to order a replacement USB port online, as it’s a modular part and can be replaced individually.

The answers already shared by @AnotherElk are correct, thank you for pointing those out.

If you’ve already submitted a support request, our team will get back to you. We know the waiting time can feel long, and we’re working hard to bring it down by training new colleagues and improving our processes.

Thanks. It’s not the USB port that’s damaged. It’s the socket that the screen cable plugs into. This is part of the phone, not a part I can order and DIY install

Ah, thanks for clarifying.
I totally misunderstood socket for the cable .
Sorry, it’s much clearer in hindsight (as usual).
