Hi, it has been 3 months since the last time I could’ve used Moment features.
Since two updates, it started by crash loops, fortunately the rest of the phone was ok.
And since the last update, it kinda came back but as a black screen.
Things I tried :
Restart phone after every following steps (even tried to shut it for one hour)
Empty cache and data from Moment app
Force stop Moment app
Change the input action to something else
And I’m still stuck with this black screen when the switch is enabled. This is disappointing to have a wrecked software after only 8 months of handling.
I am stuck in the same situation; Moments is botched for me. I believe the initial issue was that the “switch button settings” was messed up as I always got the message “switch button app stopped working” when flipping the button. However at that point the Moments app was set as default Home Screen and worked well. I cleared the cache/data for both the “switch button app” and and “Fairphone Moments”. This fixed the button, however it also causes “Moments” to only show the completely black screen. Seems that Moments does not populate its own data after a “Storage Reset”.
I tried contacting the support but it isn’t helpful, they even told me to download the last version of Fairphone Moment on Google Play.. It’s not available to public.. e-e
And next to that answer they suggested me to just wipe the phone. I refused since it’s been less than a year of using it. That’s not how it’s supposed to work.
Asked for the apk to update but I don’t even know if the case really gone to the right service.. Still waiting.
I am sure you have tried this but: Go to Settings > Apps > locate the fairphone moments app > select force stop > clear user data and cache > RESTART the phone, switch to fairphone moments with the button once the phone has completely restarted > set it up again. Your fairphone moments version should be 0.1.11, I think that was pushed with the latest OS update that includes the July security update.
Hi ! Yeah this is one of the first thing I’ve done when it started breaking. Tried again for chance after reading you, it doesn’t work. Still with black app when Switch is on.
Same here. I did that procedure because the “Switch Settings App” broke (switch did not work anymore, the settings menu for the switch could not be opened) and someone recommended to purge the cache/data for both apps. I am quite certain that the Moments issue starten after that. I tried to reach out to support as well but man that was depressing…
that’s unfortunate because that really sounds like something for has to fix.
