Had an issue for a few months now with my Fairphone 5 where my wired headphones have started randomly disconnecting more and more frequently to the point where they only now work if I hold the adaptor cable in juuuust the right place. Unfortunately even a very brief disconnect causes a pause in playback so for a while I stuggled with just constantly unpausing the music, but now it’s completely unplayable. Not very practical!
I’m using the official Fairphone USBC to 3.5mm jack adaptor cable as well, and I’ve tried it with other adaptor cables from other brands and exactly the same thing happens. It played absolutely fine for nearly a year.
Only physical symptom I noticed was that the adaptors were a little bit “wiggly” in the socket with quite a bit of give, though it always charged fine. Suspecting I had damaged the USBC port I bought a new one last week, swapped it out and had exactly the same issue.
Before I pay for yet another part (maybe something plastic snapped in the bottom unit though I can’t see any issues?) I thought I would ask if anyone else has any other suggests?
I really dislike bluetooth headphones and don’t want to change to them just to listen to music at work ![]()
