Fairphone 6 Died Randomly

Hello,

My FP6 decided to not work anymore on Monday evening. It just decided to shut off. Figured i might have not noticed that the Battery is low and went to charge it after a bit. But my Powerbank showed only 0.5W drain. Which was the first clue that something was up. Decided to leave it a bit in that state and read online that when the battery is dead leaving it on a charger for a bit can help. So left it overnight.

Next morning I still get no sign of live. The Display does not show anything no low Battery warning nothing. And charger still only showing 0.5W. Fairphone Support has their usual Speediness so i havent got anything back from them. Did open the ticket early tuesday Morning.

I already had a look inside and did not find anything obvious like a disconnected connector or signs of damage on the battery. I did measure the Battery voltage which is at 3.3V not sure if that is dead empty for those but according to some charts online its more 20-30% SoC.

Anybody got an idea which is not blindly giving FP more money for this phone and ordering replacement Parts in hope the battery or usb might be the problem?

Hi, sorry to hear about your experience. Have you tried the self-repair portal? I have just tried the path with my FP6 does not turn on and was invited to request a repair.

Died connected to the charger? Did it start charging at any point? Fast charger?

If all those are yes, sounds like another:

Sadly all no.

Was unconnected while shutdown, did not start charging more than 0.5W according to my powerbank. Did use fast charging though. But did not have the rapid random heating.

I did thats what the ticket is for. or atleast thats what the System gave me after going through the portal.
