Fairphone 6 camera app

Hey everyone! I want to buy a Fairphone 6 once there is a LineageOS build for it, but that’s not the point here.
I want to install the Fairphone 6 camera app on this custom android and have it running there. Is the APK for that app somewhere? Can I download it via any way?

You could download the latest firmware from here:

In your case this one:

Extract the downloaded ZIP file go the images folder.
In the super.img you can navigate the following path \system_a.img\system\priv-app\ and you find the camera app in the folder FPCamera. Then just extract this folder, maybe to your desktop.
I used 7zip as software for accessing the image’s internal file structure by right-clicking on the super.img and from context menu open with 7zip.

This is for Windows, not sure about Linux.

Interesting find: To be honest, I don’t fully understand why it’s in FP5 /e/OS official but not in FP5 /e/OS community – given the FP4 /e/OS community version does include Fairphone’s native camera app, doesn’t it?

Me too, because I’m not sure if all the system files for the camera, besides the APK, are available on /e/os or LineageOS. I’ve just showed the way to the APK.

I’d like to know if there’s a way to extract the camera app from the stock ROM in FP6. I want to install eOS, but I don’t like the camera app it comes with. That’s why I’d like to install the stock FP6 ROM app.

Fwiw /e/OS that is a custom Lineage OS fork is tracking adding back the Fairphone camera app in this issue.

Thanks i try. How can I extract super.img from Windows?

I used 7Zip, right click on the super.img file and select “open with 7Zip” (or similar) in context menu. Afterwards it’s opening in the 7Zip-GUI and you can navigate in the content of the image file.
