Fairphone 6 and Cam aps fx

Hello everyone,

I use the cam aps fx app with libre 3 and ypsopump on my fp4. Ever since i updated to android 15 two days ago the connection to the sensor is lost every half an hour or so. It seems to be a problem specific to the combination of fairphone and android 15. So my question is now if anyone uses the cam aps fx app with fp6 and has the same problem or if it works normally? i need this app but i would love to keep using a fairphone.

Hello. I upgraded to Android 15 and now my Libre 3 Plus glucose monitoring sensor loses connection all the time. I also use Ypsopump insulin pump which has the same issue. I need to downgrade to 13 again as I can’t trust my phone to give me the correct amount of insulin anymore. Anyone here who know if this is possible?

As a physician working with both diabetes patients and the company that makes the most used flash glucose monitoring sensor technique we see most problems with connectivity happening because of the smartphone closing the underlying app/processes that poll the sensor. Since there are also multiple reports on Fairphones closing apps aggressively on A15 this might be a possible (part of the) problem. Others have mentioned this is an A15 problem, but the Sony and Samsung phones at home on A15 don’t …

So it might be worth following those conversations. Maybe the moderators might consider creating a topic for Diabetes and Android 15 (across devices).

The OP is using a FP4 and is asking if its the same on FP6.

I would like to know the same thing… My experience with the disconnection of the sensor is that it is more likely to stay connected through the night as if the phone(android) or the other apps has less activity during this time. I have also disabled multiple apps from running in the background and it got better somehow(or maybe it was coincidental). The less I use the phone, the longer the sensor stays connected(unless I get out of range).

So to get an answer to my question i decided to just try it and it seems to work perfectly. I got the fp6 two days ago and since then the cam aps fx app works just as good as it used to on my fp4, if not better. (Of course the official support advised me to get a phone from the compatibility list since they can not guarantee that the app works on a fairphone.) It is not the perfect solution because i would have loved to use my old fp4 for a few more years but i am happy i can keep using a fairphone!
