Fairphone 4 running /e/OS won't turn on

My Fairphone 4 running /e/OS 2.8 has been having some issues lately - it suddenly shut down about two times and I was only able to restart it after charging it for some hours. I thought it was a battery issue so I bought a new battery, but a few days ago with the new battery it suddenly shut down again and now it won’t turn on at all. I’ve tried both batteries, taken the battery out for a long time and so on, no success.

Is there anything else I can try?

Thanks.

If you are sure, that charger and USB cable are 100% in working condition, there are either the USB-slot or the power management of the FP4 broken.

Thanks, cable and charger are not defective, I can charge other devices with them. I’ll take a look at the USB slot, but afaik the battery was pretty well charged when the Fairphone shut down.

Doesn’t the FP4 charge at all ? Did you try a kick start ? This helped in some cases on previous devices.

Well it’s hard to drain the battery without being able to turn the phone on.

I might have to get a second Fairphone to check what happens if I replace the modules one by one.

What might helps to locate the error, is a power plug with ampere current display. If the charging works a minimum of 1-2 A is consumed by the phone.
