Fairphone 4 MTP/PTP (data transfer) does not work

Every year i connect my phone to my windows laptop and then transfer all files to my laptop. Recently my usb broke and i replaced the usb part of my fairphone. Since then i can’t use a USB cable to connect. Windows states that the usb device caused an error.

What i tried:

  • used 7 different cables, from usbc to usb and usbc to usbc, also this morning went to the store and bought a new one
  • tried it on two windows 11 (all updated) laptops
  • forced dev mode on the FP to enable the MTP and also tried PTP
  • removed drivers from windows, reinstalled, downloaded https://adb.clockworkmod.com/ and also tried https://developer.android.com/studio/run/win-usb

anyone else also runned into this problem?

The only thing I can think of is remove the USB-port. Clean the port and reassemble it again.
Make sure the connector is well fitted.
Very important: don’t press in the middle of the connector, but press from the sides.

I’ve tried some days ago, only for test, and had this problem with USB cable. As a workaround, I shared file with the PC using bluetooth.
