I have a Fairphone 4 that charges extremely slowly, even after replacing the USB-C port.
I tested the charging with 5 different chargers and numerous cables. The charging behavior is completely random.
Sometimes it doesn’t charge at all, sometimes it changes as long as I hold the cable, sometimes it says “slow charging, 4 hours to 100%”, sometimes “slow charging, 24 hours to 100%”, and rarely it charges quickly.
And these different behaviors can occur with the same charger/cable combination.
The usb-c charging port of my fairphone 4 is new, I ordered it on Ifixit.com and changed it myself.
My computer correctly detects my phone when it successfully charges.
Never encountered a similar issue. Maybe install one of those battery starts applications that measure capacity after a couple of charges. Might lead to some ideas.
It could also point to a possible old battery that is right for replacement. But I’m that case maybe the phone would also heat up during charging.
If possible I’d meet up with another fairphone user ( or fairphone angel nearby ) and try with a battery swap to not buy something you don’t need.
Re battery: I got caught with similar issue and finally found out how to kick start the battery on a YouTube video. It worked for me but I don’t trust it now. If the battery gets very low then mine needs another kick start procedure. I’ve ordered a new battery which is taking too long to arrive.
