Hello
My 5 year old fairphone 3 had difficulties to charge and a weak batterie for around a year. Now it can’t charge at all anymore. I thought it was from contact failure of the bottom module combined with an old batterie, but I changed both and it’s still not able to charge.
I checked the charger, it works well with other devices.
Would you have any idea of where the problem might come from?
Thanks!
Hello,
Have you tried to put a pen under the USB cable connector to put some pressure ?
It works for me.
Yes I have. Doesnt work for me…
Having replaced the battery and the bottom module, I can’t really say.
Even if your cable and wall charger work with other phones, have you tried using different chargers and other wall chargers on your phone? To definitely rule out that this is not the problem.
While you are investigating the problem, it occurs to me that an externalcharger might be of interest or useful:
Best of luck.

Hi there
Thanks for your advices. I tried other cables and wall chargers. There’s still no reaction.
If I understood well, the external charger you sent enables to charge batteries without using the phone module. I’m not sure that would be very efficient on a day to day basis. But it could perhaps help finding out where the problem is coming from!
Thanks !
I think that could be the problem: the phone is not reacting at all when I put the new batterie in and try to turn it on.
Usually, phone manufacturers deliveri batteries with a little bit of power in it right ? If so, the phone should react when I try to turn it on…
If the phone is completely dead, you should check this:
