Fairphone 3 power issues

For data recovery purposes, I’m trying to revive my (out-of-warranty) Fairphone 3+ after it suddenly shut off while I was holding it (with a battery percentage around 70%).

I’ve tried different chargers and cables, cleaned the USB-C port and replaced the Bottom Module, but it has not shown any signs of life (no vibration, no charging indicator).

My best guess would be that the Core Module has a defect and I am now wondering if there are any further steps in the repair process that I could take myself or that it would be best to send the phone in for repair.

If your FP3 has suffered what in this forum is called a “sudden death”, then Fairphone’s repair contractor Cordon (in France) cannot revive the motherboard, they can just replace it (so no data recovery – which would not be possible either even if they could revive the existing one because of legal requirements regarding data protection).
