Fairphone 3 and auto-android

I recently started driving an electric car. My choice felsl on an Id3, partly because the navigation system does not use Google. Unfortunately, I can’t connect the F-droid software, especially OsmAnd+, with android connect. I need to install this software via Playstore. What can I do for get software from F-droid on my car? Is there a solution?

I searched a bit online and found AAAD, quote:

Android Auto Apps Downloader (AAAD) is an app for Android Phones that downloads popular Android Auto 3rd party apps and installs them in the correct way to have them in Android Auto.

Maybe that is the solution you are looking for? I sometimes drive a VW ID.3 (car sharing), I will try this whenever I have an opportunity again.

EDIT: I just noticed that it is incompatible with Android 14, so I can’t test it unfortunately (I use custom firmware).

I tried OsmAnd+ in the car and initially it wasn’t working. I fixed it with Android-Auto-XLauncher-Unlocked. In the readme it says it unlocks OsmAnd+ and it does so indeed (see picture).

Thanks for the solutions. I will try it.

Interesting, does this solution work without any Google Play Services, as I have a FF4 with LineageOS and no Google Play services (or OSS equivalents)?

If you have MicroG (instead of GoogePlayServices), there is aa4mg to enable Android Auto. Android-Auto-XLauncher-Unlocked is already included in this module. If you have neither of those, I think AA doesn’t work (but I don’t know for sure).
