Fairphone 3 (2021) Out of order

My 2021 FP3 seems to be dead.
Not charging, not vibrating when plugged (2-3 cable and plugs) no charging LED, and not booting. Not seen by a usb linked computer.

Stopped working close to empty battery and i thought it just crashed out of power.
Then it refused to charge. Already happened when the battery was empty. Cleaning the female usb c port and eventually dismounting and remounting the bottom module was enough. Not here. (i might have damaged the usb female plug)
But i charged my battery in a collegue FP3 without problem, it wasnt even empty…
two options

  • the battery charged a bit before during the night even with no LED nor vibration (i let it plugged to the power plug a while)
  • or the phone died before the battery was empty.

Anyway, is there a way to test few modules/wires or anything to check if something is still working ? (i have an ohmmeter @ home and also lot of electronics equipment at work)
I also lost one of the 13 screws, maybe this time, maybe the time before. Is there a screw that is mandatory to the power up ?

In the case it’s dead, do i have a way to access the memory module and get access to the files ?

In any case, even if i dismounted it down to the bottom module and cleaned contacts and the power button (it s clearly not clicking well anymore even if the printed board switch is still clicking well), i plan do dismount it all again and clean it again one last time. I also fear the usb female plug is , but not the main problem anyway as i have a full battery

thanks for any inputs, sorry if TLTR

Your fairphone 3 probably got the “sudden death” problem.

More here (and a potential temporary solution to save your data off the phone)

Can you please confirm this?
