Fairbuds XL don't emit any sound anymore

What the title says. One moment I am using them as normal, I turn them off and leave to eat. Then I come back to use them and no sound comes out at all. I verified the setting (the call and audio modes were both on), changed the device (same thing), and used them with a usb cable (the sound comes out then but with notable less quality).

I don’t know what to do. The app doesn’t help and there was absolutely no reason why they would fail like that. They didn’t move at all so I know they didn’t fall in my absence.

Could someone help me?

Thanks in advance.

Hello
I don’t have Fairbuds XL so please accept that I am brainstorming.
If they work on a cable, could that be an issue with battery?
How old is it? Could you try resetting it? Turning them off and charging?

Edited to share the troubleshooting from the website

Hello,

Thanks for the information.

I didn’t suspect the battery because the fairbuds do turn on. The notification light turns white but there is no “Power On” sound. The fairbuds connect with devices normally but there is no output.

I have checked the battery (it was at 80% the day the problem declared itself and I charged to 100% without any difference between/I have taken it out then put it back with no change) and the cable (both ends are firmly in place).

I bought them last year (2023 version) and had problems in the first 2 weeks (I posted here but didn’t find a solution).

I suspect the speaker is the problem (ANC not disponible, the joystick performs only the play/pause fonction) but I was making with at least till I could buy the spare part of the 2025 version for an upgrade. But I won’t lie even though I am with Fairphone’s mission, the products are not the best.

Hi
Thank you for checking.
Yes, the troubleshooting process I linked also suggested checking speakers connectors/cable as a next step - perhaps that is a warranty case?
I don’t think I can help any further as I do not have the device myself, but perhaps somebody else will.
Good luck
