Faiphone 5 charger failed again

Hello, my phone got wet in the rain one day and I got a warning that the USB had detected dirt or moisture.

After letting it dry for a week, nothing changed, so I bought a loudspeaker, a USB-C port, and a new battery. The error persists.

Here’s what happens:

  • When the cable isn’t connected, it doesn’t detect dirt.
  • When I connect the cable, I get the warning.
  • It seems like something is charging, because sometimes it shows 5% and I can use the phone for 5-10 minutes.

Is there an external charger available? To be honest, this is the second Fairphone I’ve bought, and neither has lasted more than two years. I’m starting to lose faith in the project.

Hi, there is no dedicated external charger. Some solutions have been explored here.

Could you try with a different cable?

I usually have this warning either when a device gets wet or when the cable is not really working with my phone.

Finally, you could try waterwiki and check for water indicators.
