E/os MicroG account won't let me log into gmail account

The MicroG app is malfuntioning and not letting me backup mmy whatsapp into my google account. Does anyone know a solution or an alternative way to back up whatsapp?

I mostly use Whatsapp for family members who haven’t switched to Signal yet, so can’t abandon it yet.

Afaik at least when WA is not configured to store backups in the cloud, the backups are there:
/storage/emulated/0/Android/media/com.whatsapp/WhatsApp
Backups/
And all media data is here:
/storage/emulated/0/Android/media/com.whatsapp/WhatsApp
Media/
(And you’ll also need data from the Databases folder).

So I assume you have to copy the WhatsApp folder (including the subfolders) regularly to a save place.

Restoring everything should be possible by copying the WhatsApp folder to the exact same place. When starting WA for the first time on the new device it should propose to restore everything and groups, chats and media should be there.
