/e/ OS locking bootloader or going back to Android

Good day everyone and merry and warm christmas!

I have for a long time been thinking about buying Fairphone 6 with /e/ OS, but I got gifted one as a christmas present yesterday… with Android. Since this was not what I was longing to (privacy mainly and politics), after a brief research I decided to change to /e/ OS, noticing that it was possible through their own installer (also I believed more in my own skill as an IT student and a daily Linux user.) And yes, the installation went smoothly without any problems - the phone is using Murena /e/ OS without any problems… unless you try to use more secure applications such as baking ones and when you think about security itself. Of course the bootloader has been opened in order to install /e/. I have used the official easy installer for Fairphone on /e/ Foundation webpage /e/OS Installer Install /e/OS on a Fairphone The Fairphone (Gen. 6) - “FP6” (also in this page there is written that relocking the bootlocker is supported.)

I believe that the banking apps problem is caused by the bootlocker, because, at least in my understanding, if it were a system-based problem the app would not open, yet it does and functions up to filling the login, after which I cannot proceed with a message along the lines of “because of security reasons.”

And now, after everything, I have done more research on locking the bootlocker - I know the risks e.g. of bricking the phone (I do not care about factory reset, because I either way do not have any files yet on the phone.) Is is possible? How to know how the security numbers compare, which is newer? Is /e/ OS native to Fairphone, because there is also the second FP6 that comes with it? How do you lock the bootloacker and are there any other risks that I should account for?

Now, after thinking for a bit more, I think that the bank app error message might have been caused also by the fact that then I had moved my SIM card to the new Fairphone (the app might have detected a new device), but today I moved it right back to my old phone and the loging proceeded (though I am not sure whether it will go till the very end, because I cannot receive any authentication messages, because I am beyond borders of my telecom – no roaming). Could it have been caused by this?

But eitherway, I think I do want to lock the bootlocker, because I also do not want any additional risks that come with physical theft, even though it is an unlickely event. I want to take precautions.

For every, even the smallest, though long answers are encouraged, may I thank you, this means a lot for me. I hope that all of you will have warm and merry christmas. Thank you for helping me out!

it was possible before the install, but information is nomore available on the device…
