E/os App lounge not loading open source options

Hi, new by here trying to degoogle.

My app lounge doesn’t seem to want to offer me open source or web apps.

It just keeps circling and then says those options aren’t available.

I know I can use googleplay apps but I just really want to be able to at least scroll and find things not via the play store. That’s part of why I bought the phone, and am.on this quest

Any tips welcome or a person in Leeds that wants a cuppa and to show me what I’m clearly doing wrong

Thanks for any advice,

C

For increasing the group of people possibly being able to help you I’d recommend you post your question also on the /e/OS forum.

Thank you for the link

Wish you good look to find help over there!
Just for the records - in my case App Lounge show Open Source and Web Apps (e.g. after disabling “show apps” in App Lounge settings).
Still there seem to reports of App Lounge not working rather often…
It may help to delete cache or even data of the app lounge app.
I suppose the /e/OS version is up to date (App lounge often does not work in old OS versions!).

Cheers, I’ll try that.

I have only had the phone for 10 days so one would hope things were the up to date version but I’ll check anyway.

I’m trying to make sure I figure most stuff out before my 14 day returns is up! I want to keep at it.

hi, you can download the F- Droid. apk from their website, and give it the permission to install apps from this source, when you where asked did you trust this source, answer yes. so I have done, to get more information of open source apps. I hope this helps! regards mic

Many people use F-Droid and Aurora store directly, to avoid issues, with the App lounge which happen repeadly

Open App Lounge , go right under to Adjustments and look for Show applications if Show Source apps is selected.
