/e/os/ 3.5 Dialer does not display over other apps when someone rings

Hello,

I’m using Fairphone 4 on /e/os 3.5, and I use the default Phone app.
My problem: If someone rings me the display is hidden behind anything else I’m using. So I have to hide everything else before I can answer the call.

My Settings: in the Phone app settings ‘Allow display over other apps’ is allowed. However, in the App notifications I can’t turn on “All Phone notifications” (it’s grayed out). This is not the case with WhatsApp and the issue does not occur with WhatsApp, i.e. the display for whoever is ringing me appears up front.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Hi, I found two threads on the /e/OS forum about this, but they are both not resolved. I think it’s best to ask over there, since it’s an issue with /e/OS.

Also, 3.6 is being rolled out right now.
There’s always a chance an issue might not persist after the next update … Feedback for v3.6 - Build Feedback - /e/OS community

Hello AnotherElk,

Many thanks for replying. I’ve installed 3.6 and the dialer screen still remains in the background when someone rings, either a regular voice call or using WhatsApp.

However, using the volume button I can answer the call, and by hiding all my open screens I can view the dialer and reply to the call, or not. This is not an ideal solution. I’m going to chase this up with /e/OS community or Murena.

I’m having the same issue for months. This is very frustrating. I’m having also the same issue with whatsapp … Nothing seems to fix it. I’m using a FF6.

Please dont mix devices,if needed open a topic under FP6 or better follow-up in the e/OS forum
