Hello, I want to de-install Magic Maps, which is pre-installed on Fairphone 6 and brings error messages that it wants to update Google-Play - Services. Is there a way to get rid of it? Since, apparently, it causes troubles, will it perhaps be automatically be deinstalled in some future /e/OS update?

Magic Earth was a temporary workaround for years, even closed sources it is privacy respectfull.
recently they changed their bizness model and since the automn 2025, the free version have restrictions in features.
A new Maps app is expected within v4.0 in the next months
Just to confirm … did you update the App yourself to a new version?
Because what you describe shouldn’t happen with the Magic Earth version provided with /e/OS so far, if I’m not mistaken.

It may well be that it was updated from the original Installation. I did not get this error in the beginning.
I’m on e/OS 3.7.1 on FP6 and froze Magic Earth to version 7.1.25.34 in Aurora Store. Everything still works fine (incl traffic, at least I can see roads in red but don’t know if it is still taken into account during nav) and remains free. I guess changes comes when upgrading to v7.1.26 probably. I’m happy with it and Comaps until Murena Maps can compete.
