Debating "what’s wrong with FP3, so that FP4 comes out so soon?"

Hearing, seeing, and thinking. There are many complaints about the archaic cpu etc and as such people some comments about people waiting for an upgrade.

Fairphone need to sell to make money and they are not going to sell many more FP3 given it’s old spec etc. personal experience etc.

I bought a 3+ in February this year, and it is just lacking in performance. Even side by side with a Pixel 2 from 2018, it is slow.

There will be software updates and spare parts at least until 2024.

@Fairphone 3 SoC (Snapdragon 632) life span

Hello I am thinking of buying the new FP3. What surprises me is that the put a Snapdragon 632 and not a flagship one. Because they want to support the device for five years and apps and network jobs are getting more and more resource consuming I’d had expected to see something more powerful. Furthermore I am wondering if they even can support any SoC for such a long time since Qualcomm most probably won’t provide firmware updates for such a “long” time I guess. Any thoughts on this?

My daughter has finally given up on the FP3, after 10 months, so I’ll have two FP3’s soon but I’ll be buying the FP4 as soon as.
