Custom music Ringtone does not work

I believe that’s the topic you were looking for, maybe somebody who’s solved this before can help again :slightly_smiling_face:

And welcome to the community @jawibu

I tried your trick- disturb on / off and restart does not work om my Fairphone 4. Do you have another trick?

Hi jawibu and welcome to the forum.

Here is the method I use to set a custom ringtone.

  1. Make sure that the standard properties of the music file (mp3, ogg, wav, …) include a title. This property will be used by Android so that the song can be included in the alphabetical list of available ringtones to choose from.
  2. Copy or move the music file to the “Ringtones” folder of your phone’s internal storage.
  3. Set the new ringtone by going to
Settings > Sound > Phone ringtone
If the standard properties of your music file include a title, you should see that title in the alphabetical list.

Thanks. I will give it a try

Thanks for the suggestion.
I can not even download music to my memory.
I am afraid I am stuppid

Where is the music file that you want to use for a ringtone stored at the moment?

Very kind of you.
It is: Nina Simone; Wild is the wind.

Is this usefull enough

I don’t know how to download it. So there is no place to store it to

Hi jawibu,
Good song, but I don’t think I can help you unless you own a copy. Sorry.

Hello old routard
I am back.
Stored the song “wild is the wind” on sd card on my Fairphone.
See no way to get is as ringtone.

But there must be a bug.
I cannot change any alarmtone either.
But I can live with that.
Do you know a solution to this situation?

Greets

Hi

To select a new ringtone you use the add function and then search for it.

The default search will be the internal memory so then you will have to select the SD card.
