On my old android phone (galaxy j4, android 9) I used to be able to switch the phone to vibrate mode without having to unlock, simply by dragging down the top bar and hitting the speaker icon a couple of times. I haven’t figured out how to do something similar on my new FP6. It has to be unlocked before the volume buttons operate and then it’s a couple more taps.
Can I use the big yellow switch somehow to achieve this? Or is there another way of quickly turning the phone “silent”, i.e. vibrate for calls and messages, but not quite full-on “do not disturb” or “focus”
No, the volume buttons do not wake the screen. But I have fiddled with something and now the power button (even when not recognising thumbprint) wakes the screen so I can use the volume buttons to change to vibrate.
What I ment was: awake screen and when its awake use the vol button. I mean without the screen awake you would neither be able to use the feature of your old phone.
There are other ways to awale the screen like double tap to wake or lift to wake if ou dont want to use the power button
