Hi folks,
I recently bought my FP5 and I love it!
But it seems I can’t install the latest eOS update (2.6.3). The download works, but when I click on Install nothing happens, no error, or else.
Current version is eOS 2.5-t-20244418446629-official-FP5.
Do I have to download it manually and if yes, where do I find the download, or do I have just wait for the official FP5 update?
Don’t know why Install does not work in your case.
But I can tell you that manual downloads can be found here:
https://ota.ecloud.global/official/FP5/
Still the version mentioned by you has a very weird number. 2.5 should be e-2.5-t-20241108446629-official-FP5.
Have you tried simply restarting it?
Did you try clearing the cache of the updater-app?
Thanks for your answers so far.
Yeah, I restarted the update process several times and re-downloaded the image with no luck.
Clearing the cache didn’t help
Thanks for the link, I’ll try it now. Regarding the number, probably just a typo =)
Didn’t work either.
Also, if I export the URL in the updater app, it seems to download the correct image: https://ota.ecloud.global/official/FP5/e-2.6.3-t-20241217455358-official-FP5.zip
I tried downloading the update and choose local update, but it always fails at the first step (preparing for first time boot).
I’ll write the FP support, maybe they can help and will update here.
Sorry to hear that nothing’s helping so far. You might also post your troubles on the eOS community forum.
I’d wait at least for the next eOS-Update which should be released in the next couple of days before trying out more drastic measures…
But just to be clear. You bought the FP5 pre-installed with eOS from Murena? If so they’re the ones who should fix it (instead of Fairphone).
I suppose you’ve already rebooted the entire device yet without further success, right?
Yes that’s what I mean with "restarting it (as in device). I realize now that I wasn’t specific enough.
Back in the days, after having finished installing the update (but not rebooting) all sorts of inconsistencies would appear. Sometimes available updates would disappear all together or was presented again as if in stallion hasn’t been started yet.
In every case the issue was resolved by “restarting the phone”.
