Can't flash new OS onto Fairphone 5

Hi everyone.
I have been attempting to flash a new OS onto my fairphone. I have tried both /e/os and iode.
I tried a bunch of different tips for troubleshooting it and nothing seems to work. I have tried to install on windows installer, manual install windows, manual install wsl, and even tried to install a different OS using a mac. None of it works. I have used different cables as well. The fairphone just stays on the bootloader screen (on the phone) with any installation attempt. For both iode and /e/os it gets stuck when attempting to check bootloader status. I attempted to go into recovery mode and go to fastbootd as well but nothing.
I tried the easy installers for both iode and /e/os and also tried a manual install for iode but the same issues arise.
i was eventually able to do fastboot flashing unlock on my mac so the phone is now wiped and unlocked, but when I attempt to install anything the phone can’t be found. Any advice?

Fairphone 5 - windows 11 predominantly.
Android 14
USB cables are fine (have tried multiple)
Windows drivers - none are available to be updated (hence why I tried through wsl and mac)

Any other ideas? I feel like I am missing something because I follow every single instruction and have spent hours perusing help forums but haven’t been able to find anything that fixes my issue.

editing to add: I did order a new USB cable to see if that was the issue - though the ones I have access to now should have worked fine.
And yes I tried to use root privileges when manually installing. it just keeps saying that the phone can’t be found. adb devices - found, fastboot - can’t find.

fastboot - can’t find.

On windows PC most times its a missing bootloader driver so not sure which drivers you mean

hey, thanks! yeah I had found that page previously. windows has no driver available for the device when I go into disk management. I even tried to find some to download manually but that did not work either. I have the platform tools as well and followed the instructions on the fairphone website to unlock the bootloader and it would not work on windows or linux but finally did on mac, weirdly enough. but then I still get stuck with any install at the piece where the installation is attempting to find the device in fastboot mode. it just can’t be found.

maybe there are drivers I can manually install but I think I could not get it work to install them?? or I didn’t find them, I am not remembering super well now.
and yes fastbootd is incorrect, but I tried it because I was at my wits end lol.

connect the FP in fastboot mode to the PC, go to Windows Updates, check for updates manually, go to Optional Updates and Drivers and install everything regarding Google/Bootloader (e.g. Kedacom/LeMobile).
