Can't connect FP5 (Android 15) to Android Auto

Hi. I can’t connect my FP5 to Android Auto. I’ve tried with different cables but no success. (Bluetooth connects fine).
Any tips appreciated.

Try “Clear storage” of AA app first. If unsuccessful, clearing the storage plus a factory reset of your car’s infotainment should solve the issue.

I had the same problem: connected with a cable is not reliable and works sometimes. It used to work flawless with my previous phone, so the problem wasn’t the car.

I end up buying a bluetooth adapter for Android Auto connected in the USB port of the car and never had a problem since.

As you say, it’s a mix of several ingredients: car, phone, cable, linked apps, …

In my experience BT adapters can be more reliable than cables, but there’s no warranty on it either.

I also had this problem and was able to use a bluetooth adapter as workaround. Then I tried to do a data connection to my computer and noticed that I was unable to do that as well – I could only charge. This made me suspect that the Fairphone USB port had become damaged at some point (the data pins are separate from the power pins on USB), so I tried replacing the USB port. That fixed both the computer connection issue and the Android Auto over USB issue.
